Oreck XL2000

RANT: I purchased the Oreck XL2000 vacuum and the only good thing I have to say is that I didn't pay full price.
If I had, then I would be livid about this purchase. Oreck vacuums are overpriced and over-marketed.
The suction is almost non-existent. It just sweeps the surface dirt into the bag. It's also the loudest vacuum I've ever heard. If you've got kids, then forget about vacuuming during nap times or after they go to bed.
They'll wake up thinking the house is under attack!
The next issue is the belt. It slides off or starts smoking with each use. I spend more time putting the Oreck back together than I do cleaning.
And their so-called free tune-ups are just worthless. I took mine in and the parts would have cost more than a new vacuum.
Their customer service also leaves so much to be desired. You can't get a manager on the phone and they have no desire to resolve the issues.
They've already gotten your money and that's all they wanted in the first place.
Instead of calling them the "8 pound wonder" they should be called the "8 pound piece of junk".
