Miele S5980 Capricorn

RAVE: I purchased the Miele S5980 Capricorn with Deluxe Power Brush SEB 236 after much research about the right vacuum for me.
The warranty, quality and versatility were the deciding factors for me. It was also rated very highly in Consumer Reports and its service record there was impressive.
I would almost be ashamed to admit I spent so much money on a vacuum, but I was able to purchase it for about half the retail price from eBay.
That made the purchase only a little more expensive than a Dyson and less costly than other brands like Rainbow or Kirby.
Well, it was definitely money well spent. I got what I paid for.
The Miele Capricorn was very easy to assemble out of the box. All the parts are hard plastic and the bristles are horsehair which makes them sturdy yet gentle on a variety of flooring. Our house has a mix of floors from carpet to tile and area rugs, and this vacuum handles them all beautifully.
The hand controls on the handle are an amazingly convenient design as are the warning lights for when the bag is full or the motor is getting too hot.
The wheels turn in all directions which makes it ideal for cleaning in all sorts of tight spots. The hose also has complete rotation so you never have to fight with it.
One of the best features is how quiet it is. I can clean while my kids are sleeping and never have to worry that I'll wake them. It lets me put nap time to good use.
My other favorite feature is the HEPA filtration. This vacuum truly removes the allergens, dust, and pet hair from your home instead of just spreading it back into the air.
So far, there isn't a thing I would change about the Miele S5980 Capricorn. I just wish I would have purchased it sooner.
