DC17 Absolute

I have two Dyson DC17 Absolute that I purchased at Sam's Club 9 months ago. Both have the same pluses and minuses. I think the pluses are widely known so I will discuss the troubles I am having.
I mostly use the telescoping wand with the attachments but when I want to vacuum the rug and use the bristles, the vacuum is very difficult to engage (what I mean by engage is when you put your foot onto the bristle area and pull down on the handle).
I had both of them serviced by the local authorized agent but there is no difference. I am waiting to see what Dyson will do in their Buffalo factory after it was sent to them (they are paying for the shipping both ways which I think is very kind).
I would purchase another Dyson but not the DC 17 Absolute model.
