My installer told me a joke about our Beam Vacuum that must be an inside joke between vacuum guys. He said "the Beam sucks, just not as good as the others on the market".
I expect that not everything is going to work like they say it does. With our Beam vacuum that we had put in our new house, it stretched my patience.
From the day we moved in, the Beam didn't work very well. The original installer went out of business by this time, so we tried to find another. What a joke. We searched and called and if we found a Beam store that still was in business they all said it wasn't their problem.
I finally asked a guy from another company called Nutone to come and look at our vacuum. He used to be a Beam guy, but switched because of the quality and reliability. He said that he knew of a lot of Beam guys that weren't in this business anymore.
He took the pipe off and put a meter on the vacuum and it told him the vac was bad. He took it apart and a seal was broken by the motor and some fasteners were missing. He said that this thing never worked.
He gave us a great deal on a Nutone vac, a Vx 1000 and it has worked great ever since.
